Boat Storage and Annual Launch Terms and Conditions

Launching is not permitted when the centre is closed.

All sailors must report to the Nene Outdoors office before launching.

No Power craft are permitted on the Lake.

All persons are required to wear a buoyancy aid or life jacket when on any pontoon or craft.

All water users must give anglers space to fish.

All water users must observe sailing limits as advised by Nene Outdoors.

Please refer to local by-laws and rules of sailing.

Anyone sailing a boat must be able to demonstrate they have a minimum RYA level 2 /RYA Start Windsurfing qualification or equivalent experience

Third party liability insurance cover for a minimum of £2,000,000 must be held and a copy must be provided to the Trust if requested at any time.

Annual launch fees are set as per table above.

The above rates are for 12 months from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. A pro-rata rate may be applied for subsequent applications.

A 10% discount fee applies if you have sailed 12 times or more in the previous 12 months, your 12 sessions must be recorded via the signing in and out sheet in reception.

If you remove your boat from storage or decide you no longer require annual launch part way through the period, no refund will be given.

On payment of storage fees Nene Outdoors will allocate a storage space within our grassed boat yard. All boats and equipment must be kept within the allocated space, any boats or equipment stored outside of the allocated space may be removed by Nene Outdoors. Trailer[s] that are not stored within allocated space, the relevant additional fee must be paid and trailer[s] labelled with name. A limited number of storage spaces within the hard standing area will be available for disabled sailors. To be eligible for a storage space on the hard standing area the applicant should be a blue badge holder. If you have any concerns or queries regarding accessibility please discuss this with Nene Outdoors prior to application.

Nene Outdoors staff will maintain communal areas of the boat yard and may also periodically carry out maintenance of any individual plots as considered necessary by our staff.

If you choose to carry out maintenance of your own plot you are permitted to cut the grass in your plot using manual devices (e.g. shears) or cordless powered devices (e.g. strimmers). There will be no access provided to plug in electrical devices which require a mains power supply.

The use of chemicals (e.g. weedkillers, pesticides) in the boat yard is strictly prohibited.

Individuals are not permitted to cover the surface of their storage plot with any other material. Individuals may choose to place appropriate items (e.g single paving slaps) under the wheels of their trailers to lift them off the surface and prevent erosion of the soil beneath, but the majority of the area must remain grassed. Nene Outdoors staff reserve the right to remove or ask you to remove any material that they feel is inappropriate to the area.

Nene Outdoors accepts no liability for injury or damage caused to people or property as a result of individuals choosing to carry out maintenance on their own storage plot.

Nene Outdoors also continues to reserve the right to and move boats as necessary according to the terms and conditions of the annual boat storage agreement.

Nene Outdoors reserve the right to move the position of any craft if needed.

Nene Outdoors shall not be liable for any damages, claims, causes of action, injuries to or theft of the private boat[s] or equipment stored on site.

Member free parking Terms and Conditions

Each member will be permitted to submit up to two vehicle registrations for exemption from the daily car park charges.

Both vehicles must be registered to the same address as provided on the application form.

Only one vehicle per membership at any one time will be exempt from the parking charges. If both vehicles enter Ferry Meadows the second will incur parking charges at the advertised rate. For family double launch membership both vehicle registrations will be exempt from the parking charges.

Parking exemption is valid from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.

If launch membership is not renewed by 31 March 2023, the parking exemption expires on 31 March 2023.

Membership covers free parking for the vehicles registered at Ferry Meadows car parks only. If these vehicles enter Orton Meadows or Thorpe Meadows car parks, also owned by Nene Park Trust, standard car park charges will apply as advertised at these sites.

Membership permits vehicles to enter the Nene Outdoors boatyard for loading and unloading only. Vehicles must be moved to the public car park as soon as possible.

The information provided on the application will only be used by Nene Park Trust and our appointed parking management company, in connection with managing the parking charge and membership systems at Ferry Meadows and will not be used for any other purpose or shared with any other organisation. By providing this information you are agreeing to your details to be used in this way.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to inform Nene Park Trust as soon as possible of any changes in vehicle registration details. Delays or failure to do so may result in parking charges being incurred by the driver which will not be exempt or refunded by the Trust.

Amendments to contact and vehicle registration details can be made via a membership amendment form available from our website or on request.

Membership does not guarantee a space in the car parks or priority over others.

All vehicle drivers must adhere to the general parking Terms and Conditions as set out on signage around the car parks.

A height restriction barrier is in place across the main entrance to Ferry Meadows Car Park at Ham Lane. Access will only be given for permitted vehicles over 2.1m by contacting the Duty Ranger on 07860 308081. Speed humps and 15mph speed limit are in operation on access roads at Ferry Meadows.

Nene Park Trust reserves the right to withdraw the free car parking to members at any time.
